Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Polishes - Through the Grapevine and Candy-licious

Today, I wanted to mention two nail polish colors by Wet n Wild that I have owned for a long time and really like, Through the Grapevine and Candy-licious. They are super affordable and for the price, the quality and wear time is surprisingly great. The versions I have are quite old and the packaging has been changed with a little more product. Whether or not the formula has changed, I cannot say since I haven't tried them but looking at pictures online, the colors look the same. The ones I have contains 0.30 fl oz of product and retailed for $1.00 back then if I remember correctly. The newer versions now contain 0.45 fl oz of product and retail for ~$1.50 - $1.90. You can see those here.

Please excuse my cuticles!

April 2014 Birchbox Unboxing!

The monthly Birchbox unboxing!

There's the saying, "April showers bring May flowers." This month, Birchbox went with a rainy day theme and even the tissue paper was blue. As usual, I got 4 samples, along with one extra, in this case, a lifestyle extra. FYI, I will include links after each product if you are interested in checking them out or are looking for more information.

Dry Shampoo Reviews - Psssst!, Batiste (Dark & Deep Brown), Suave Keratin Infusion

Who else thinks dry shampoo is a lifesaver? I certainly do! Especially since I have long, fine and straight hair, second day hair is quite obvious. Today, I will be doing a review on three dry shampoos that I have tried so far and give you an overview on each of them: Psssst!, Suave Keratin Infusion, and the ever popular Batiste in Dark & Deep Brown.

Stepping into Spring OOTD - Olive Green Coat and Burgundy Knit Sweater

It's now April and it's finally starting to feel a little like spring here in NYC. It's been a very long and cold winter and everyone has long grown tired of the cold, wondering what's taking spring so long to get here. Spring officially started near the end of March but it's still a chilly spring that requires a coat of some sort (or maybe that's just me, someone who gets cold really easily).
Simple and comfy, as well as staying warm is always important to me, which is why on this casual day out, I opted for a versatile coat with a loose, knit sweater and comfortable, stretchy black pants that feel like jeggings. The jacket is an olive green color by Miss Sixty and it essentially goes well with anything. What I like most about it is the big pockets! I can put my phone in there without fear of it slipping out and they keep my hands toasty warm. There is also an elastic inside that you can cinch on both sides so that you can adjust according to your waist.
I really like the color of my sweater which is what drew me in at the store, along with the loose fit of it. I've really developed a liking to looser fit clothing pieces and am still on the lookout for such pieces. Since the sweater is a waffle-knit type of sweater, I have to layer a tank underneath. Also, an extra piece of clothing can provide a little extra warmth.
With the transition into spring, it is now weather appropriate to break out the flats instead of the boots all the time and worrying about freezing our feet off. I simply paired a plain pair of flats from Aldo (a store that has affordable shoes!) to finish off the outfit.
Like in my last OOTD post, this one includes my Longchamp bag as well. I did say I used this bag pretty much all the time! The outfit is very simple but I thought it'd be nice to share anyway, especially since it's been quite a long time since I first and last did an OOTD.
